Cold War Kids - Royal Blue

Since the release of The Mulberry Street EP, I have been a hardline fan of Cold War Kids, awaiting each new single with anticipation. There were mixed reviews regarding their sophomore LP Loyalty To Loyalty, but the California indie band maintained their integrity, mixing more jazz and blues into their sound but experimenting with some electronica as well. There has been nothing from them since the Behave Yourself EP, until now. Their first single "Royal Blue" off their third LP Mine Is Yours, set to come out early next year, is as beach surf pop as the band has ever sounded. Nathan Willett is notorious for his profound lyrics, affection of poetry, and courageous, inspiring story telling. "Royal Blue" follows the same pattern and doesn't disappoint.
