Here We Go Magic have produced some pretty progressive indie songs since their inception as a band a few years ago. Their sophomore effort Pigeons came out earlier this year, "Casual" is the first single. Like previous works, "Casual" is like trip folk; delicate yet muddled, gentle while demanding; acoustic guitar strings accompanied by piercing synth sounds. Here We Go Magic have developed a niche in their short time as recording artists, making music that's harmoniously gratifying but very difficult to enjoy at first, very similar to Grizzly Bear. Frontman Luke Temple's lyrics are hard to forget here. "It's casual, not heart breaking."
