The Ascot Royals @ Bread & Circus, Feb 3/11

The Ascot Royals played their first Toronto show of the year last night. The crowd in the packed back room of Kensington Market’s cozy Bread and Circus bounced around and clapped along with front man Jimmy Chauveau as he and his band mates performed a relatively short set. As with previous shows, the band’s energy was electric; filled with onstage dancing that seemed both chaotic yet organized. Towards the end of the set, Brantford rapper Profit joined the band for their song ‘So Tired’, resulting in a surprising and exhilarating remix. With catchy lyrics, superb solos, and onstage shenanigans, it is no surprise that the band’s fan base appears to grow after every live show. The Ascot Royals are back in town once again February 19th with Fast Romantics at The Rivoli.
