Asaf Avidan - Reckoning Song

In Israel I discovered a local folk singer whose voice is as distinctive as Bob Dylan, Zach Condon, or Antony Hegarty. I searched YouTube for his live performances and learned that this dude is no joke. Asaf Avidan, who to my relief sings in English, has a powerful but poignant voice that mesmerizes you upon first listen. During the army he began writing folk and rock n roll songs and has been performing since.  Adhering to the more traditional school of rock, Avidan sounds refreshing and unique, rather than the more familiar redundancy of rock artists today. "Reckoning Song" is a loving folk ballad; enlisting nothing but an acoustic guitar and Avidan's raw awesome voice, he creates musical magic here, meant to provoke thought and inspire. It's an instant classic.
