Gold Panda is that rare breed of DJ that can appeal to a serious hipster but at the same time make your body rock non stop (see Flying Lotus). "Snow & Taxis" is a living testament to that; Gold Panda uses sounds you wouldn't normally hear on a house track, but this is so cohesively progressive I don't even know how to categorize it. After only releasing three EPs, this Essex DJ has received massive praise from the likes of NME, Pitchfork and Spin. His music is a complex breed of fuzzy lo-fi, electronica, chillwave and house; he often uses Middle Eastern sounding samples (see "You" and "Quitter's Raga") and even incorporates a hip hop feel to some songs as well. Destined to do great things it seems, let's see what his first LP sounds like.
